Patricia Maya, also known as Patricia Maya Schneider, is a renowned and accomplished Mexican actress, writer and producer. She was born and raised in Mexico where she mastered ice-skating at the early age of eight years-old. As an adolescent, ice-skating would lead her to experience her first performance in front of an audience.

Her interest for the world of entertainment influenced her decision to obtain a Bachelor in Communications, and later study script writing and courses on web series producing at the distinguished UCLA in Los Angeles. After graduating, and to her parents surprise, Patricia made the bold decision to join the circus, Roncaly on Ice , where she was hired for a one year tour, excelling as one of their professional ice-skaters.

At the end of the tour, she was hired by the most important television network in Mexico, Televisa, and worked as a writer and producer for the Telehit shows El Monchis , Cuentamelove (with sexologist and best seller Silvia Olmedo) and the successful comedy show Guerra de Chistes , among others.

In 2010 she moved to Los Angeles where she continued her career as a writer in the Azteca America TV series El Pelado De La Noche , where she wrote sketches and monologues for the main host, Sergio Bruna, and later became his co-host (marking her debut as an on-air talent and the first time as an on-camera host.)


In 2012, Patricia participated as a consultant on the series Rob on CBS, starring her husband, actor/comedian Rob Schneider, and legendary actor/comedian Eugenio Derbez. Working on the series sparked the creation of the series Real Rob , which Patricia co-created and co-wrote alongside Rob and comedian Jamie Lissow. The comedy, an exaggerated version of Rob Schneider’s professional and family life, was written in 2014, filmed the following year and bought by Netflix. In 2015, the series was released on the entertainment platform with Patricia as the lead actress and producer, and was renewed for a second season available now as part of the “Netflix Original” series line-up. Season 3 of Real Rob is currently in pre-production.

Patricia has starred in national commercials for brands such as Honda, Ziploc and McDonald's, intensifying her growing passion for acting. In 2017, she was named as one of the Top 12 Rising Latin Stars to look out for by the renowned top media outlets La Opinion and El Diario NY in the same list with such names as Miguel Angel Silvestre and Karla Souza. She also filmed her first dramatic supporting role in the highly anticipated Iberoamerican Spanish feature film Planeta 5000 directed by Spanish director Carlos Val which is scheduled for release worldwide fall of 2018. As an accomplished writer, i n 2016 Patricia wrote the children’s book “Centurion and Emperor”, based on two Napa dancing horses, for the Gamble family. The book is illustrated by graphic artist Francisco Herrera, who works with Marvel and Disney, and was recently published by Magnetic Press and is available for sale on and Barnes & Noble.

Patricia is a spokeswoman for leading a healthy lifestyle, her passion for staying healthy through exercise and good eating habits is the main element in the message that she wants to convey. The actress, alongside husband Rob Schneider, are big soccer fans and have been known for their following of the Monterrey Mexican team, the Tigres. They are both advocates of higher education and are passionately involved with the foundation that this team supports , Tigres por un mejor futuro ( Tigres, for a better future ), from the Nuevo León University (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León). This foundation helps students through scholarships that provide them with the necessary help that they need to finish their university studies, including help with transportation, school supplies, and their living situation.

Patricia lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two daughters.
